Can I connect my MPC2000XL to my PC via SCSI/USB cable?

Newbie here!
I just bought my first MPC2000XL off of ebay. It was sold to me with a SCSI to USB converter cable. This was lised in the product decription on ebay about the cable:

"2) SCSI to USB Converter Cable, This cable will allow you to plug the MPC directly to your computer and access the Internal SCSI drive. This setup is like the MPC 1000"

This was a key factor in my decision to buy the MPC2000XL from this person. Now I have tried to hook it up myself and it doesn't work. I have read about this on various websites and have searched this forum. They all say that there is NO WAY to connect the MPC2000XL to a PC. None of them mention the SCSI to USB cable specificaly though.

Was this false advertisment? Is this possible at all? Please help...

I have just signed up myself and I am in the exact same position as you only I have a MPC 2000 not XL. I was going to buy a SCSI to USB wire

What operating system are you using on your pc?

I was hoping with the SCSI to USB connection would allow me to plug the mpc into the pc and windows xp would reconise the MPC as a mass storage device (like when you plug in a digital camera or some other removable media)

Would much appreciate help on this

That sucks. Unless you know what you're doing you gotta take your MPC somewhere to get it fixed.

After searching around a bit I guess I figured out that I got ripped off on eBay. The scsi/usb was advertised for connecting the mpc2000Xl to my PC but this does not actually work. Its a shame when people are dishonest on eBay.
I actually did manage to find a topic somewhere in this forum where 2 people said they got the usb/scsi to work with the 2000XL, but they did not explain how.

If a newbie doesn't deserve some form of a reply then who does? Even if its an obvious question. As you can see I did not post this question in the MPC2000Xl, 2000 forum.
