a couple of semi-"newby" MPC2K questions (thanx in advance)

o.k i know these are fairly easy questions that are newby-ish but i have searched the forums and been unable to find the answers.. if anyone would be so kind as to help a young whipper-snapper such as myself refine his mpc game i would be very grateful to you...like i said, these question are probably second nature to most of you so take a moment and see if you can do a little charity!

these questions pertain to the mpc2000

1)-when assigning the same sample to multiple pads, wutever filter(pitch,tuning, etc.) i use on one pad seems to carry over to the other pads with the same sample on them. how do i isolate the filtered sample to just that 1 individual pad?

2)is it possible to have your sample/sound play backwards?

3)in “trim mode” how do i PREVIEW wut my trimmed sample will sound like, and is there a way to UNDO your trimming?

4)sometimes when i filter a sample, it reduces the volume..is there a way i can make the post-filtered sample louder??

5) how do i assign my different sounds(kick,snare,sample, etc). to “tracks” once i’ve got a drum pattern looped? so far i’ve just been keeping them in different sequences and then adding stuff to “copied” sequences to change up the bars...i hear using the “tracks” is easier for this.

i am going to try to help you, but really try the search function. question 1: you are going to have to sample the sound you want on seperate pads. question 2: yes. question 3:yes, hit the open window and hit play.if you don't like it, change it. question 4: mess with the reson in the filter window,and hit the open window to adjust the sound. and last, use the tracks on the sequence to add your sounds. trial and error. you will get it. good luck!

1. When you are assigning one sample to more than one pad, are you using the "copy" feature in the programs parameter page? If you are, you're copying not only the sound but all parameters assigned to that pad.
If you want the same sample on multiple pads, just assign them to empty pads in the program page.

2. Yes. Trim-->Zone-->Edit, scroll through options.

3. Yes. Trim screen upper right hand corner, F6 button plays corrosponding "preview".

4. Yes. Trim-->Parameters-->Level.... turn it up.

5. I tired of typing... you're on your own.
