mpc 1000 usb capabilities...

If you are using a usb hookup to pro tools will the usb cable transfer sound (play via mpc to record directly on computer pro tools) for portability without a soundcard?
aka: no soundcard with phone inputs just usb hooked into cpu for use w/ Sonar.

NO, the manual says and everywhere else specifically states that the USB is only for u to transer WAV files back and forth. the PC sees the MPC as a USB drive. basically it reads the data on the CF card.

there is no sound intergration and never will be. sorry to disappoint you, though the MPC1000 has been out nearly over 2yrs and its common knowledge.
