I just picked up a 002 rack and I'm in the process of hooking it all up.
I also have a mixer. I was under the impression that the rack would eliminate the mixer (if I wanted it to).

My question how do I still use the mixer and use the one set of monitors for playback (composing w/out pro-tools) and the final mixdown on Pro tools? Or how do I use pro-tools as a mixer w/out having to record?

This may be a obvious question but I'm puzzled on the correct way of fixing this problem. Thanks

Hmm. How does everyone else have their Pro-tools and monitors hooked up to their mixer?

u can hook your monitors right into the 002 board and if u want to use it as a mixer it has a stand alone mode hope this helped

Are you talking about the Digidesign Digi 002R Rack Factory Bundle?

If you are, then the 002R has its own monitor outputs built in, so hook up your monitors for monitoring.

If you want to just use this for final mixing/editing then you should run your monitors thru your mixer to monitor the sound and then run the stereo output from the mixed into the 002 rack and record from your computer and mix and edit within the computer.
