What's good folk? Been lurkin on the board for a minute and my question is this. Is there any old school hardware producers out there who have made a smooth transition to software programs? I had a ton of keyboards and modules which I gotten rid of so I can step up my understanding of software based production. I'm still hanging on to my MPC-60 & S-900 because I have like 9yrs. worth of beats on them. I haven't really seen to many topics dealing with how to convert or move these files to new software programs(my bad maybe I haven't looked hard enuff).
I'm experimenting right now with FL Studio and Reason 2.5 Adapted. So right now I'm on the fence. I heard about doing midi sample dump or using a program called Awave...I don't know anything about these techniques so if there is anybody out there that has tried this or has gone through this scenario, let me know how you did it?
Oh yeah, here is a question for the guys that use Fruity Loops....how can I get my keyboard to play more than one note at a time? Yeah I know, this might have been covered elsewhere...diggin for the info on past posts and I still can't find it. I have a M-Audio e-49 midi controller linked to a M-Audio Delta 1010LT, when I open Reason Adapted 2.5 I can play,record, and edit patches I've played with no problem; but when I open up Fruity no dice. Hell, I can even play notes in Fruity with the "type to keyboard" function or using the mouse, so is there something else that I need to do? I know that the controller is sending midi to Fruity because when I tap the
controller I see the midi light flashing in Fruity....the problem is I can only play middle C on the controller...past that I get nada. Hey guys I know I'm asking alot 1st time out ....but I'll be grateful for whatever info you guys have. Thanx!!!
