Ok.....Im new to the board....I want to say what up first!!!! OK....what I want to know is....What r the main functions of a scsi cd drive? I bought it thinking I was going to start sampling, because I normally am 1 of those non sample producers only....I was thinking of coppin some sample cd's or regular cd's, hooking my scsi cd drive up to my mpc 2000xl, and loading. chopping my samples that way, or do I have the idea of the use of a scsi drive wrong altogether? I have outputs of my 2000 hooked into my digi 002, and can play the pads directly into my protools session....Drop some synth sounds from either my mo phatt or motif, and voila, im sampling? Is this true? My drive is like 12x, whatever that means......Man Im really excited about this new thing....Iv'e been producing for about 8yrs, music is changing, gotta keep up.....Any ideas u would like to share would be appreciated also!!!!

Don't double post please. Asking the question in one forum is more then enough.

A CD-R drive will work for your MPC just like it does for your PC. Put in a CR-ROM, load stuff. No saving. Faster than zips and floppies for loading, and you can order all sorts of sample CDs off the net to put in it.
