does the casio have "midi in" , "midi out" or both?

u need "midi cables" to connect it. 1 or 2 depending on the above and what ur trying to do. connect a midi "out" to a midi "in" and vice versa.

the answer to your last question is "either one its up to you"

but you should also find some midi basics tutorial so you get the big picture of what is possible.

if the keyboard has effects on it can it put those on the "SAMPLE from the MPC" u use and also change the pitch of the SAMPLE from the MPC" then?

if the keyboard has f/x, but has no _audio_ inputs, you can only apply those effects to the keyboard's own sounds.

but you can record those effected sounds onto the mpc... or you could use the mpc to trigger those sounds on the keyboard.

but w/o an audio input on your kb., you can't take a random sample from the mpc and throw the effect on it.
