Applying effects to certain tracks?

I know you can apply an effect to a pad and also use master effects. I have an MPC 1000 and I was wondering if you can apply an effect to a certain track.
I use the same sample twice. Using the tune variations in the 16 levels, I have two patterns on two different tracks (with the same sample). And I just wanted to use an effect on the one part on the one track.

I think I could just sample the track internally, then export the sample into my computer and put effects on it there. And then run it back into the MPC.

Actually, I figured out I can just re-sample the part and assign it to another pad and then add the effects.
