Need help

Whatsup all,

Uhm i pretty new to hardware producing, just been **** around in fruityloops before.. anyways im confused with all the: mixer , multi track, workstation etc stuff.

Im getting a G5 soon, i wanna use my MPC / mf42 module / keyboard to make beats.. how does this go if i buy a mixer, can i just plug everything in, and use protools to EQ the sounds in my mpc and stuff or what?

Trying to understand how the connections are hehe..

it's not as simple as that. once you get your G5, you will need some type of audio/midi interface to plug into your g5 and some monitors. a mixer is good if you want everything to come from your mpc to go into the G5 in 2 channels but you can still do that without the mixer. if you want to use pro tools, determine which interface you want.

So u dont connect the G5 to a mixer right? ( Is that even possible? )

Like Sparq said...you're gonna need to get an interface.....basically something to get all of your external sound sources (MPC, Keyboard, etc) INTO your computer......you can have a mixer, and have it hooked up 'PRE-Interface', thats what i do....i have my turntable hooked into a mixer, and then from the mixer to the interface...that way i can boost the levels and tweek the EQ on the mixer before it goes into the computer and gets recorded
I'm not too familiar with Pro Tools but i think that there are some interfaces that are build specifically for pro tools and some that dont work with pro tools at all...i could be wrong though.....just do your homework and research a little bit before you buy.....
