Drums don't sound the same during playback

Sorry guys, I can't find this one anywhere. When I'm messing around with my pads everything is fine, and when I record the preformance it is the same. But when I playback my recording, my drums seem to be cut off or shorter. Definitely not the same as the preformance. This is my second day with my MPC 1000 and I am a little nervous. I bought this thing on e-bay. Any help is appreciated.

is your TC right? Could the drums be on "note on" in program mode?

I looked in the program mode and I didn't see anything about note off. What is TC?

Hey I think I figured it out. Time control right? I set the notes to off and I'ts been working ok so far.
