Mpc 60

Yellow..

I just brought me a mint mpc 60 with no manual and after much persusaion have jet on here to seek advice from the experts...
And lets face it if your making beats on an mpc this is the place to be..

I've been using a 2000 and 2000xl for about 9 years never read the manual and kinda got it to do what i wanted...

I've got one gay question about the 60 if anyone can help? as i've only managed to download half the manual..

Once you sampled a sound how do you assign it to a pad? hehehehe
(yeah i know)

if you dont mind me asking, whyd you get the 60? Im still deciding which machine to get so I wanna know why some cats decide to switch to the older models over the 1000 or 2000xl.

I went with the mpc 60 because it has a unique 12 bit sound, and the roger linn algorithms [emu sp 1200 is the best 12 bit sound ], and if I want the 16 bit sound or whatever else sound I just midi the 60 to whatever else i want.

the 3.1 operating system on the 60 is easy to use. the 60 has a big layout so all the buttons are spread out so it is easy to access all the functions in the operating system.

Sweet got the rest of the manual downloaded now so i can dig in and learn how to operate this beast...

Umm i picked up the 60II, because i really like them gritty 12 bit analogue sounds man...
Computers dont really do it for me but i respect cats that use'em to good effect..
I used the 2000xl for a long ol time and kinda just use it to sketch beats now.It sort of feels like a toy in comparison to the monster desk like 60!
But like mr Rokuez i can see myself bustin out the ol midi cables in the not to distant..heheh
But I guess I'm juss a Dirty old man.

with the 60 can you hook it up to a comp and midi controller and what not. technologically speaking is it alot inferior than the 1000, because I too am looking for that 12 bit sound like the SP 1200 but dont want to shell out a grand just for an SP 1200?

yeah the 60 is pretty dope as long as it has all the upgrades that should go along with it....i got one with the original version and i'm stuck with that **** till i can afford an upgrade(for now i'm using the 2000xl)...but don't get me wrong, the 60 is SWEET
