I have my mpc 1000 from 2 weeks and i discovered pretty much all of it...
only one question is left in my mind...here we go:
1-I take one sampled drum loop perfectly working, no dropouts/clicks etc....
2-i know the drum loop is 2 bars and i know its exact tempo, lets say 90 bpm
3- i have a sequence at 110 bpm/2 bars
4-i want to match that loop exactly to the 2 bars at 110 bpm. so when i start the sequence the loop start playing at 110 bpm with no gaps, perfectly looping
5-so i timestretch it to 110 bpm
6-but how do i set it to start at the beginning of the sequence and match exactly the tempo of it?
thanks

I think this is why no one replied. It's gonna take you more than 2 weeks to discover "all of it" along with tricks and stuff.

Go into step edit and place your sample on the very first tick
of that sequence.

After that maybe you can firgure out by what you hear what you need to do to get it working more to your taste.

i really wouldnt stretch something 20 bpms. chop in individual parts and replay it manually at the correct tempo.

with that quote i meant, that i have understood all the manual chapters...not that i can use mpc as a pro...
anyway thanks for help...
but i don't understand as a "simple" thing as takin one straight loop and loop it so its start/end point match with its own sequence start/end point is quite tricky

Yes it is.

tricky when I first started using loops.
simple to me now.

chop small, time stretch and/or tune each peice and go from there is a easier route until you get the hang of the whole loop thing.

timestretching long loops more than 10-15% and you will loose some quality.

google up deepsound and you'll find a timestretch calculator.
The link is also in my "useful links" thread in my sig.

i can't work with loops. It feels like such a tedious process (trying to get it to line up, get the exact bpm) and in the end you're just replaying what someone else did, almost exactly (save timestretching, pitchshifting).

To me chopping is much quicker and you have more freedom to freak the sample. Less boundaries.

have you tried 'tap tempo' button? i'm not familiar with the 1k but on the 60 it has a tap tempo button and all i do is match it up with the loop. i think i experienced your same problem until i started using tap tempo and now i can quickly loop up a dope sample and a drum pattern.

usually pitch down the sample until i hear a good tempo, then play the pad over and over whilst tappin' out the tempo to match the loop. record + play and everything should match up if done correctly.

i really gotta get past this basic process and chop smaller at some point but choppin' on the 60 takes lots of patience. it sounds awesome though!
