Numark PT01 or the Numark TT1600 for sampling?

Which one should i get?

whats the difference between the 2? are u using a mixer with a preamp? if not, get the tt thats already preamp'd.

all u need is a working turntable to sample from.

Get the PT-01. You'll be able to take it diggin with you if you want too, built in speaker, built in headphone socket, can run on batteries etc etc.

I'm gonna pick one up myself, it's a lot more versatile

I think im going to go with the numark tt1600 because I do not have a mixer.

the numark tt1600 does not have a built in pre-amp.

Is the 1600 belt drive?

I have the Numark TT1650's. I think they're great, but not sure about the 1600's.

I had my technic 1200 connected to the mixer for a long amount of time (aside from an equalizer and the mpc, no other hardware is in my setup). I bought the mixer cause I was under the impression I needed a preamp to sample. Not so. I recently moved my stuff around, and I hooked up my turntable directly to the mpc, ground hook and all. The rec gain is just as high as when I had it hooked up to my pre-amped mixer. I only have the gain turned up halfway and the gain is high and crystal clear, there's no unwated hiss, everything is perfect. So with that discovery I'm looking to sell my mixer cause space and money is of essence. But...I don't want to give out wrong advice, either. Or there might e something I'm overlooking. So is there really a need for a pre-amp/mixer when I was able to just hook up my TT directly to the MP and get an equal gain?

I'm not really asking this question for advice on whether to sell, but just wondering if anyone came across the same thing. It's baffling to me cause all you hear is you need to preamp your tt. It's like if I'm aware George Bush is white but then I meet him and he's really an intelligent black man. Just confusing.

He knows that(based on his other thread) and he has went with the PT-01. He is enjoying it.

I've heard the PT-01 sounds like sh1t, and that it's only good for digging purposes

yes, i've actually heard it. i have a sound clip comparing technics 1200 and PT-01, so stfu.

I don't really believe it sounds like shyt, i've heard beats from enough people on here that use it and the samples didn't sound bad to me.

okay then, somebody else with both PT-01 and a better turntable should put up a comparison file. maybe the guy that i got my sound fil from had a tainted PT-01.

That's not my point. It's very likely that a Technics 1200 and seperate DJ mixer could sound better as the mixer would most likely have a better preamp than the PT-01 BUT...

If someone posted a sampled beat on here i know you or i wouldn't be able to tell wether it had been sampled via a PT-01 or a tech unless we were told.


If you use a TT1600 with a shyt mixer with a nasty pre-amp then that will sound as bad or worse!
