yo watup ppl, ill give some background about me.

Im about to get a job (money income) and im a amateur producer/Dj (Thats why teh name) i have a M-audio Trigger Finger, and 1990-1995 casi piano tht i use for MIDI IN (cuz my pc donst have a sound card yet) and my beats sound liek shitty super nintendo games. i have 2 Stantons 8-60s, and a SK-One mixer (witch i will change)

now tht im looking for a job and will have money coming in, im plaing on going hard on the equpiment. I'm defetly gonna get a Sound card and new Keyboard and Monitors and a MPC, but... my question is where sould i start i defently know im getting the sound card and monitors 1st (cheaper price) but im still wondering what to get 1st a MPC or a new piano??

Is MPC really needed??

im gonna get samples from the turntables, and i know i can use a MPC for tht, but then what about paino i need to play notes

is there a piano/synthesizer piano type controller tht i can use for sampling?? i know korg and others make something around tht area..
so what do i get the MPC or a real nice work station (piano) to get started??

any links tips, hints would be mad helpful, thnx alot

I'm presuming you have some sequencing software to use with your Trigger finger, right?

Since you're getting a new soundcard and you have a Trigger Finger, then an Mpc isn't needed because you can do all of your sampling in the puter and use your software program to make some beats (assuming that's what you want to make?).

If you get an Mpc, your trigger finger will become relegated, so I suggest you cut your teeth on the computer until your feel you are ready for an Mpc. That way you will gain some production experience before you make a move to an Mpc while saving yourself some $ at the same time.

yea i have Cakewalk, but like i said i have on sound card and i have to run the sound passed my piano, and its old it sounds like S*it, so im probly gonna get a sound card, new piano, monitors and upgrade my PC, and mixer, then think of a MPC

any good programs u know tht i can use for sampling?? or cakewalk is good for it.

What Cakewalk software are you using? If it has a built in sampler then this will be more than capable of triggering drums and a few loops if that's what you're looking for.

Check up on the software to see if it comes with a sampler. If it does your good to go, and you can get some practice with this sampler before you get the cash together for an Mpc.

Sounds like you do need a soundcard first before anything. Also if you're just gonna be using samples, then you could skip getting a new keyboard before the Mpc (unless you like playing keys?).

also i would get the mpc 1000(cus there cheap) uless u find a 2000 or xl for cheap, jus to start out then u can upgrade thats if u do deside to get a mpc.
if ur low on money i would say start out with a midi keyboard and software thats if u like software like reason 3, cubase,sample tank etc as for me i hate software i started out with reason midi keyboard and a mpc 2000xl,
but now i got a mpc 2500 and a korg extreme, yamaha motif rack,proteus 2000,planet phatt, a laptop and reason 3 and cubase which i bought on ebay for some reason it says try b4 u buy i do know its a copy.
anyway go on that website and research before u buy anything must thing to get would be the monitors
