Damn it..Problems already!!!!

Hey I just got my mpc1000 today (finally!) and when I got home I went online to download the new OS (v2.1). I copied the bin file into the mpc on my computer...restarted while holding the window button and pressed record. Everything went fine,b ut after it said completed the screen went blank (to that green glow) and now nothing will come up....please help me!!!!!!

Try holding the shift key, and rotating the data wheel clockwise - that alters the contrast of the LCD - clockwise should make the text darker (if I'm wrong about that, turn it anti-clockwise and see what happens). Sometimes the new OS will install and set the contrast to zero, and that might be your issue.

Wow..thanks, but now I have another problem. I can see everything fine now but when I try to play a preset sound or play a demo song all I hear is static. It looks like there are still demo songs and sounds in the mpc, but I can't hear them. Do i need to load them individually?

I recall having both problems . Try holding down ERASE button on start-up/restart. Doing so will reset everything back to default and should fix your static problem as well.

thanks a lot konc3pt everything is working fine now..I tried it oout and made a little beat with 909 sounds so I know its all in order. You guys are the best..lol
