Save/Load Problem...

I was messing around and made a real quick beat. I saved it into the memory card. came back and loaded it up to listen to it, but didnt hear anything. Did i save it wrong? Kinda stuck. Peace and Thanx

you probably want to save all sequences and songs as well as all programs and sounds.

im using the 2000, but im sure its similar on your model

Yes, the next question would be, what did you save exactly?

And what exactly did you try to load back? Project file? Programs and Sounds? Sequences and Songs? Sequences don't work without loading the associated Programs and Sounds for example.

For the future, there should be a "Save Entire Memory" function on the 1000 as well, that takes care of saving everything. But better create a folder for each project/beat you're working on, and save that in there.

i've had this same problem with my mpc1000, infact i made a thread and everything but no-one responded.
i use the "save entire memory" function after naming the program and sequence. when i come back the sequence is often missing or replaced by another tracks sequence or its the program thats wrong...
my theory is that its my shitty card (its some cheap 1gb card) but i wanna find out if this is happening to anyone else

Do you use individual folders for your projects?

In all cases create an own folder for any project, so you can be sure everything you need is in one place, and nothing gets overwritten unintentionally.

If you have the same name for your programs in another project, and you keep saving everything in the root folder, of course they will be overwritten by the next projects files. Also, I think the ALL_SEQ&SONGS file always has the same name when you save Entire Memory, so that will be overwritten as well.

So: Always use individual folders!

lets remember if you are using the 1000 you cant create folders. You just have to save the sounds you used as a program and then save your sequence. Then when you want to hear it again after you turn it off and back on just simply load that sequence up with the program. Sequence is all the note information and the program you saved is where all the sounds are so when the two come together they will then play your beat. Aslo note that usually with the mpc You have to buy other equipment so get a job if you dont have one. Are you can always bootleg software so you wont have to buy any more hardware. Mpc and midi controller keyboard with the right software will have you straight
