How do you use MPC 4000 to correct a off beat sample loop ?

Boola spread the sample across the pads and then he made the sample overlap at first(the complete loop). Then he made the pads of the complete loop cut each other off and then some kinda of way he made the off tempo loop match the tempo of the MPC's tempo. I run into this problem alot so could somebody help me figure out this MPC trick. He said that you might need 4 pads or 16 pads just whatever it takes to get the sample on tempo. I know how to chop and spread the sample, I just need to know how to make the pads cut each other off like in the video.
