Hi!

My names Gaz and im from Liverpool, UK. I have been collecting records for a good few years now and have finally got around to buying an mpc 1000 and im loving it so far.

Im really sorry if this is an obvious question but i have read the manual and searched the forum but i cant find anything/dont understand. It is probably because i dont understand some terminology or something so i appologise now if im just bein dumb. anyway, here we go....

I have worked out how to take sample from vinyl, edit them, slice them and record tracks, but i cant work out how to put them together. I have an intro, drums, bass, verse and chorus using samples all on seperate tracks but how do i put them into a sequence and how do i make a song?????

Also, how do i delete stuff from the flash card? do i have to conect it to a computer or is there a way of doing it on the mpc?

thanks in advance for your replies (if i get any)

Take the sequence that you have with all the parts in it and highlight the sequence name.

hit the window key and copy it to a new sequence a few times.

Then go into each of those new sequences and mute the sounds that you don't want playing at that particular time.

Then, go into song mode and start making a list of what sequence you want to play in order.

you can adjust how many times the sequence plays in song mode, among other things.

as you play back your beat you will get inspired to add/remove stuff here and there and eventually your list will be long.

as far as CF card goes....

the way i do it easily is i have one of those $15 sandisk USB memory card readers. works like a zip or a floppy drive.
