Try recording the diff sounds on diff tracks.....ie: high hat on track one, kick on track two.....and so on. Name the tracks according to what is on there [high, kick, snare.....] Then make a main sequence and select the name and "open window" and copy it. Do that a few times. Then in the other sequences that have been copied, modify them with drum rolls, mutes, flip them basically. Then in Song mode, load those diff sequences and your beats should sound a little more complete. I'm not sure if that was your question, but seeing that you are a new user, this is probably a helpful way in constructing a beat. I know it works for me, and this is how I do all of my beats. Please let us know if this worked.
