pitch shift/time stretch sounds bad

greetings to all

got an mpc1000 about a week ago, figured out most of it but one thing i can't get around is how poor the sound quality of pitch shifted/time stretched samples turn out. there is a buzzing sound through the shifted or stretched sample no matter what preset i use. is this normal/does akai think that is really acceptable for it to sound like that?

Pitch / Time shift only goes so far....try a less extreme setting. Be sure your source material is clean...

it aint that bad, u just rely on timestretch too much. u need to figure out alternatives and tricks to get it right.

well try resampling a note, trim the second copy to around the middle, use the second copy to extend the first note. on the second copy of the note u may need to adjust the volume/attack/decay, u may have to use step edit, u may need the second copy to mute the first one. just use ur ears. And find some of ur own tricks.
