I have been trying to set up my hardware to sync up with cubase sx midi wise. The equipment that I have is as follows MPC 1000, Triton Le, Emu Planet phatt, Mackie mixer and an M-Audio 2x2 interface. I have been working to get everything hooked but with no luck. I have been able to record midi data but I have not been able to hear the data when I try to replay it. I have been told that I need a bigger interface. I was under the impression that I could daisy chain them. Do I need a bigger interface is my question. And my last question to sync up to Cubase does Cubase have to be the master. Any help or suggestions I would appreciate.

i think the problem your having isnt that you need to daisy chain anything together, but plug in the audio leads.

are midi cables all you have plugged in? if so you should head over to tweakheadz and read up on what midi really is. midi isnt sound, its only binary data used to remotely play sounds on devices.

but if you do have all the sound sources audio outputs routed corretly you should hear sound.

another question is: are you going to use the MPC or cubase as the master?
you need to have a sequencer set to master to send time code to the slaves.

i answered a post about this in another section of the forums, ill link it here so you can look at it, and give you some ideas.

go check out tweakheadz.com, and learn whatmidi is and signal flow, you will thank yourself later, it saves alot of head aches trust me i know.
