Rookie questio I guess...

Greeting fellow mpc groupies hehe

Does anyone know how to "reset" my mpc after I've made a seq on it?
I have a set up that comes on by default when I turn on the mpc, but let's say that I've started out with something and it's headed the wrong way and I want to reset it back to default (my default)...How do I do this?
I usually just turn the mpc off and then on again after a while. There's got to be a better way to do this.
I know I can go thru the whole list of deleting all the programs, seq and tracks, but isn't there a somewhat more clever way of doing this?

I'll appreciate a clever answer.

Just Save Entire Memory to a new folder just after powering up your MPC. Then load this project every time you want to clear your memory, and you're set.

I used to think (just a minute ago) that I'm a pretty smart guy, until you proved me wrong hehe.

Well, a function to just press a button to do that would come in handy indeed.

I'm glad there's no button that does that. I'm sure it would be pressed by accidentg quite a lot and then we'd always be answering questions on how to turn that ish off!

I partly wish there was such a button, but to do it like Stilo said is probably better just to avoid such accidents as electric dragon mentioned.

It ought to be something like this shift button -> load/save -> reset to default -> "are you sure you want to reset to default?" -> Yes/No
That way you're unlikely to hit it by mistake, and you get the functionality of a reset button.

i dont know if this will help in your situation, but what i do is:
go to the trim menu and press open window on any sample and hit f2 (delete) then f3 (all)

then as i build my new sequences, i keep the names and just overwrite what was there prior

Sorry to bring this thread up front again, but I just wanted to say thank you for the advise. The "save the default" way to go was just what I needed. Now I don't need to reset the mpc by turning it of when I feel the need to start out fresh after something went sour....
