how do i copy a sequence so i can build up layers of a song?

Which mpc you using? I know on the 2k u just highlight the sequence and hit OPEN WINDOW button that then allows u to copy that sequence to another empty sequence. Try that and see what happens.
Also u can use SONG MODE when u done wit all your sequences to tie them all together into one big SEQUENCE(song).

Should work the same way or atleast similar. Try various things dont just wait around for an answer.
