I got my MPC recently, at the moment I've not got the space to set it up properly or the equipment or furnature to set it up so I can hear the speakers or mix down my tracks, it is all on order and will hopefully be here by the weekend
But back to the question, even though it quite uncomfortable for me to make beats and hard to hear what I'm doing at the moment I've been keeping on doing things even though it's quite easy to dissmiss it until "the new equipment arrives". I've made a few loops, even and couple of tracks and when I've just not got the motivation I load up a kit and bash out some beats because my timing and ability to bash out interesting beat is seriously lacking and needs practice....my advice is just have fun and do a bit something just to keep the interest levels up
