Yes the emu pk-6 can be used with software just as long as u have either an audio interface/soundcard w/midi or an midi interface to allow them to sync up.

You have been a great help. I have another question though: How do I chop up samples in the 2000? I was looking for the zone function but I only see it in the 2000xl. There is a znedit function but when I press it I don't see where I can assign how many zones I want. Obviously this isn't the correct way for it to be done, can you school me? (such a novice at this)
