fo sho good lookin out on the static advice gmix, I'ma have to check that Steinberg program, either that or like juxt said join the static. Keep it like Premier and Jeru "...rock my rhyme in just static" or the Roots "Distortion to Static"

Everybody is right. The MPC is a sampler, so basically whatever makes noise can be used. Case in point, just for fun check out Beck's remix of AIR's song "Sexy Boy" to get a good idea of what I mean. Oh! yeah by the way, I sample from a Boss Dr 202 "Dr. Groove" drum machine to get my drums. I tweak them on the Boss, before I sample. I mess with decay and resonance to get my kicks low and my whatever else high . I hope I've been helpful, keep it up
