seriously, what do you need Logic Pro for? or ProTools? these are professional grade software programs meant to be used in conjunction with high end professional recording hardware. to really get the best out of these programs you will need some sort of audio/computer interface. most of which come with FREE light versions of more sophisticated recording/sequencing software.

getting LogicPro just because you qualify for the educational discount is not a good deal if you have no need for the software. like i said previously, when you buy a Mac it will also come with free recording software, Garageband, so why waste even $299? you would be better off at this early stage investing in high quality monitors or a nice preamp, maybe even a microphone to actually record with...

BTW, purchasing software at an eductional discount and reselling it violates almost every vendor list of terms i have ever seen. make sure to read the fine print.

Yeah I see what your saying. So I already have the turntable for sampling, the next thing I am going to get is the MAC, LCD Monitor, and MPC, and oh yeah Monitors. I probably will wait to get any type of software. Thanks for the advice.

I am looking at some monitors to buy. I want to make a substantial investment in my monitors because I don't want to be unhappy, and the sound of my productions will mean everything. I had JBL's when I dj'd and I loved everything about them, so I am going to buy them now as well. I was looking at these JBL's

The only thing is that these are 12" which is a little too big.
