The Presonus Firepod has MIDI in and out, so it should work fine. Get yourself a MIDI cable and hook the Firepod MIDI out to the MPC MIDI in ... and take it from there.

the firepod doesnt have a usb input. for laptop recording you need to get a usb interface. otherwise, your equipment cannot be connected to your computer. you just connect the interface to the computer via usb, and then connect whatever equipment to the interface. the interface just serves as a "mixer" or a means of connection between the two.

The Firepod uses FireWire to interface with the PC or laptop.. that's the whole idea behind the thing. So USB is totally unnecessary. All you need is to hook up the audio output from the MPC (analog or digital) to the input on the Firepod. If you want it to sync to Cubase as well, you need to use MIDI... which the Firepod also has.
