midi and synth keyboard question

question, I want to get 2 keyboards for my 1000, a synth and a midi controller, i was looking at the microkorg and the xboard 61 would these work right with the 1000 or should i get somthing diffrent

if anyone uses these keyboards or if you like a diffrent keyboard for the mpc let me know , i searched around on here about it didnt really see anything thanks alot

i use the 49 key xboard. its nice, i like it better than just about all other controllers ive touched in similar reasonable price range. super easy to set up, good patch loading interface, lots of knobs, and the keys feel good with 4 or 5 velocity curve settings for them.

I am using a Korg MicroX. It only has 25 keys, but it interfaces very nicely with the MPC1000. It sits side by side on a single 49 key keyboard sliding shelf.

Depends how serious you are about keys. I bought my first 88 fully weighted 4yrs back. and would now have nothing other than 88 fw.

Just depends what works for you.

I have 3 sets of keys now (takes up a fair wack of space) did have 4 but that was a nightmare unplug one to plug the other in.

Id recommend unless you play live or like to jam 2 boards at once.

Either buying a synth with loads of controllers forget the midi board unless its portabilty your after. Or the midi controller with sound modules take up less space unless you would like to jam both the midi controller and synth together.

If your not after jamming both i would recommend much more powerfull synths than the microkorg i had the ms2000 (more powerful than Micro) but sold it (i love korg but can't justify this synth over things like novas virus radius clavia waldorf etc etc).

Any synth will fit into your setup but seriously go play with them before you buy.

On ebay you can get some stunning bargains on these synths.

My ms2000 (more power than microkorg) cost £150 microkorg at the time was approx £180 sh

thanks for the links, i was messing around with the mirco at guitar center a couple days ago and I liked it, ilke have to check out a couple more keyboards

microKORG is dope! my friend got one and I love it. It's way fatter then Novation X station and some other cheap synths.
The keyboard on it is pretty comfortable too, so you prolly don't need another one if you are not a keyboard player. If you are, then you can get an ms2000 rack instead of microkorg, it'll prolly be cheaper on ebay

Get a good synth with MIDI capabilities (pretty much all of them).
The MicroKORG is great and has a vocoder, the MicroX is even better but no vocoder and higher price. If you want to get a full-size one, play a few at the shop. But I am happy using my MicroK as MIDI.
