"Insufficent memory"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sampled a song. I've upgraded to os. 2.1 and it won't let me chop or load my sample. i get the insufficient memory error. is this because i need more ram or because i didn't format the internal memory after ugrading. [/quote]

and i would appreciate if somebody can help me out. i mean i actually take time to read manuals and practice with my mpc. it's just small things that prevent me from getting my work done.

First off, you are in the Production Techniques forum, so NOBODY knows what you are using. You say that you are using OS 2.1... Akai hasn't made that yet for MPC 4000 , so I guess your not using that... So which MPC are you using...?

Then second. Do you have insufficient memory? What does the memory indicator indicate?

How much RAM do you have?


How many Meg's of samples do you have loaded?

sounds like hes on the 1000..i believe thats the last "official" OS for that unit.

If you're asking if you need more RAM, then Im assuming you havent maxed out your memory.



If thats the case.. turn off your computer.. go down to Guitar Center.. max out your ram.
