Does anybody know how to connect mpc500 seq. to korg microX.
I've got two MIDI cables connecting MPC with microX, I've done all necessary settings on microX and MPC, but it doesn't work, microX play MPCs sounds.
Could anybody tell me how to make microX play its own sounds to MPC.

First of all, ensure you have MIDI OUT on the Korg going to MIDI IN on the MPC and MIDI OUT on the MPC going to MIDI IN on the Korg.

What you must also remember is that you don't play the sounds of the Korg "into" the MPC. What you actually do is record MIDI sequence data so that when you hit play on the MPC, it re-triggers the Korg's tone generator.

You don't "save" the sounds on the MPC, you save the MIDI sequence data. As long as you have hooked your microX up to the MPC's MIDI ports as I described earlier then when you hit record on the MPC and play your microX, it will record whatever MIDI data the microX transmits, be that MIDI note on & off data or whatever.

Press play and the MPC will trigger the microX and playback.

The MPC is not an audio sequencer, it's a MIDI sequencer.

But I cannot hear any sounds from microx when it's connected to mpc.

If you want to play the microX sounds in the MPC, you have to hook the AUDIO output of the microX (it does have audio outputs right?) to the record input of the MPC, and then sample the microX sounds in the MPC. Then you will play back (sequence) the microX sounds inside the MPC. The MPC is not a sound mixer.

Its the old AUDIO "data" versus MIDI data routine. (Why do I see images of agent 86 from "Get Smart"?)

Peace,

So where is the Audio Output of the MicroX routed to ?

Sounds like you need to get a mixer so you can have the MPC playing back beats with keyboard parts on top... You would still record the notes into the MPC via MIDI though...

ok ,thanks, i've done it. Sounds play like they have to.
But i have another problem now. I recorded one midi track on the MPC, but i cannot record another MIDI track with other sound from microX to the same sequence. When i do it (change the sound) the track which i've rocorded earlier plays with new sound
