How do I make the MPC act as a MIDI controller?

Yo!

I got the 2000XL and I want to know how to use it as a MIDI controller together with Acid through one of those external USB to MIDI interfaces. What connections (MPC Midi out -> Interface MIDI In?) and settings on the MPC are required to make this possible?

If you advise me to check the manual, please refer to the chapter or page I should check, because Ive searched and looked through it without being able to find this.

Do I need to make any settings on the MPC? Because the interface isn't reacting to the MP, however, it reacts to another MIDI-supporting device...

(have tried both MIDI outs on the MPC and both MIDI ins on the interface)

goto the midi screen on the mpc and setup your midi options there.

I found it!

Went into the MIDI/Sync screen and set "MIDI Clock" as the "Mode".

so its all synced up and working now?

the mpc doesnt need to be snyced to be used as a controller...

Ok...The thing is, as soon as I deactivate the MIDI Clock, I lose the MIDI signal going into the interface.
