):MPC500 expanded mem. Help:(

I have just purchased the mpc500 and after not being able to save lots of samples at one time i decided to invest into the expandable memory expansion, the EXM128. the problem is when i go to save my samples (i'll sample 15 different drum sounds that are less than a second long) the only option it gives me to hit yes to save my samples is to the internal card and it always says its to big of a file. how do i use my new memory expansion to save my samples.
do i have to save one sample at a time instead of trying to save 15 at once. any suggestions would be greatly aprecaited.

the memory expansion is to increase the sample time.
If you want more memory to save sh!t you need a memory card.

yeah there are two types of memory just like your computer.

one is RAM memory (which you got upgraded) this increases the amount of workable time, how much you can sample, how many samples you can load up at once.

the other memory is storage memory, this takes the form of a hard drive, memory, card, cd...

So if i didnt get the expansion and only got a good sie card how limited would my sampling time be and how many samples can i run in song mode. im mainly only wanting to sample short drum sounds and use it mainly to seuence my synths and it also is the master for all other devices like drum machines and vs0880ex recorder.
so for what i do do i need the expansion + card or could i live with just card, thanks

the 500 comes with 16 Mb of RAM built in, the expadable memory is 128 Mb.
So if you don't have a lot of long sample going on 16 Mb will work, it will be kinda limiting but it could work.
My advise would be get the EX 128 , so you won't be limited by that, you can get em on eBay for around $50.
The RAM for the 500, 1000, and 2500 are all the same, hope this helps.
