Samples?

Does anyone know where I can get some good samples from? If you do please let me know it would be helpful. Thanks for your time.

Not what I am talking about. You know how alot of people use other peoples songs cut them up and stuff. Where can I find stuff like that?

you can get samples from anything that makes noise, cd's, tapes, records, videos, random noises and household items.........

I want to use this old song but I cant find it without music. Does anyone know where I can get just vocals?

Type Accapella in google.... Type Drum soundz in google... it-s all there for you but it won-t just appear on your desktop... you sometimes have to search ages to get a few usable decent samples... or as feline said... if
you want original samples, just use a mic and sample your own soundz...

One of my favourite sources is radio... There-s so many different channels with so many different styles of sounds and jingles... I love micro sampling snipets of radio.. the frequency range is great on radio too......

TV and Films are great sources for phrases and sound FX. Basically, broaden your sources and you-ll broaden your library... It-s a little work but its much more rewarding than using other people-s sample cd-s...

bearshare, limewire, rhapsody, etc. all file sharing software will get you accapellas.

That's a great point about sampling from the radio and TV. I have an old Roland S-550 that has a unique (at least I've never seen it anywhere else) option to it. It has a previous option for sampling. What I do is, since I don't use that sampler as my main instrument anymore, I just leave it plugged into the TV. It allows you to capture the last 28 seconds. So basically it is always sampling, and you just tell it when to stop. Then you have the previous 28 seconds of sound. The good thing about this is when I'm watching TV and I hear something cool that I wish I had a sample of, all I have to do is tap the button real quick and I got it. But radio is a great idea too, and sound quality is there too...
