quick newb question

i have just hooked up all my gear(mpc2500,1210,monitors.ttm56mixer) together, i have the monitors hooked into stereo out of the mpc, the tt hooked into the phonos l+r of the mixer, and the mixer connected from master out to mpc record ins, i just wanted clarification that this is the correct setup. i am hearing volume coming from the mpc demo tracks, but when i play a vynil i am hearing no output, is this a connection problem?
i had a feeling this maybe because the mpc has to be set into sampling mode, or something along those lines.
at first i thought i needed an amplifier, because i was under the impression i had to connect speakers to mixer, then mixer to mpc, and i was unsure whehter the mixer had built in preamp, so is this the correct way to connect everything or have i made a mistake, anyhewlp would be much appreciated.

you need to be in the sample screen to hear audio from the turntables with the way you have your stuff set up.

i guess you could actually do this too if your mixer has two outs ...

mixer out 1 to mpc in and mpc out to the line in on your mixer on whatever side your turntable isnt in and your other out from the mixer into your monitors ... just be sure to hit the line switch before sampling because ull get crazy feedback ...

is their a more conventionall way of setting up i.e. with monitors hooked to mixer outs, or is the way i have it set up the standard hookup??

thats kool, i suppose thats part of the process of learning, ill work out whats the best setup for me over time, but as long as ive got it working thats the most important thing, cheers for your help tho man
