what the hell is a CD player used for!!!

Hey guys, Now....im really confused. So, some people have their decks set up with a mixer, and i see a CD player hooked up aswell.. (something like this: http://www.djkit.co.uk/acatalog/Numark_Axis2_CD_Player.html


what do you ACTUALLY use it for? Can you use it exactly like another turntable (so e.g. you can have 3....two decks, one cd player)????

Or does it record mixes? If you could answer me...........it wud help me out LOADS!

this is a great question for the newbie section, but,

they are for playing cd's during a dj set. they come in all shapes and sizes, and for that matter, colors. many of them give you almost the same amount of control over your cd as you have with a record/ turntable. some you can scratch with, some you can't. figure out what you need from the cd player, and go from there.
