MPC 1000 with Pro Tools

I was looking to advance my studio equipment and performance. I owned an mpc 1000, fl studio 7, mpd 16 (useless), and a mk449 midi keyboard. I wanted pro tools to take a step up to the next level and just wanted to know if I made a good decision in purchasing the mbox 2 factory studio bundle(Pro Tools7.3, M-Audio Bx5a monitors, Condenser mic, ilok Smart Key, and Tons of Software) for $650, or should I have just gotten the mbox 2 that comes with everything except the speakers, mic and some of the software for $379.

Save yo self and go wit Reaper or Cubase. People so stuck on Pro Tools(not knocking you for it). Do you make money of your music or you just doing it cause u wanna do it? Thats a real big investment especially if u just started or dont know alot about music gear and connections and stuff. I'd start simple and then advance. It can only help you and if u decide its not for you atleast u wont have to worry to much about how much you spend. Most of it will be recoupable. Jus my two cents.

i agree with you 100%... Plus the fact that pro tools is so crippled when it comes to working with 3rd party equipment. You could do something much more budgeted if you use reaper are something else because you're not forced to use digidesign's workstations and preamps
