MPC for 'non hiphop' genres

Hey all, I've been looking at getting an mpc 1000 or the older 2000xl.

I would love to know if these machines are capable and competent at genres other than hiphop?

I make Triphop and jazzy low tempo housey kind of stuff (think bargrooves) and like to be able to do this if i get one.

I'd also love to hear anyone else's non hiphop music they made with their MPC if poss?

you can do anything you want with your mpc. trust. just learn how to use it for what you wanna do

in truth these machines were initially intended for those genres anyway...its just more common and known to be used for hip hop...all in all you can make anything you want, i just made a rock and roll track with my mpc and it was ridiculous ...i mean that in a good way....
