hi there, i have sort of done a 1/2 track and if you can listen to it and advise what you think it needs id be most grateful

serious suggestions please! no give up or stop beat making tips please :p

I am going to do some drum edits on sat/sun

I am also gonna tighten the lyric up

also my add a filter sweep on the (quiet) lets stay together part!!
(it needs mixing :S)

i've been (was) a fan of jay-z for 9 years.

american gangster is one of the worst albums ive heard in years. i'm gettin tired of people remixin it. jay has officially sold (himself and all of the fans who have been there since reasonable doubt) out.

but beat was ok

is there bass line on it? i could see a nice bass riff adding alot of depth/texture to it...

im not that fmailiar with all of jayz's work though, is this supposed to be a remix of his song? is it all his words and all your beats or what?

whats up i aint heard the american gangsta album, i was given the pella as a gift so i put my beat behind it and all that is jayz is the lyric all other is me, the bass is there, i guess it needs to be eq'd better its very low and not constant, can you hear the crazy sound that kinda sounds like a monkey, its in line with that!!

I will work on it and hit you all back. i will work on the bass as I agree it cant be heard on the computer! thru the speakers its banging "honest" lol its funny to think how thin it sounds now thru my lappy i guess some special eq is req

honestly bro, u may think of this as just a learning track, but i agree with grime, a small bass line could add some real depth to this track.

i think its a great beat, and the foundations are there to take it even further. so i sujjest you keep workin on this before you jumping into another track, but good shyt, my homeboy E-Steele does all the rappin' for my tracks, and is a big fan of jay, i played him your joint and homie loved it.

hey thats good to know! i got the beat running all the way thru now! i shall get the bass in it the bass is not constant see its like just on intervals and its a real sub bass, do you think perhaps a mid range bass would be better for this as it rocks on my system but sounds weak on the lappy.

i think it would be best to go with the mid range, but thats cuz its good with that specific beat, but when applying the bass, don't overdo it, keep it in apprpriate level with your track and that shyt would be bumpin homie!
