The serial number should start with K1 and end with BK (In most cases so far)... Outside of that, if you lift the corner of one of the corner pads you should be able to lift part of it out.... This can be done with a gentle touch, if you have to try really hard then stop, they are the old pads..... It is also the luck of the draw when it comes to new pads..... Open it and check it at the store and don't accept it if it has the old pads.

i just got off tha phone with tha guy from guitar center and he said that mpc1k that im buying bee n there for some months so does this mean that the old pads r on there ? hit me back any 1..

NO guarantee. I got my first one in Nov, and a week later I took it back and got another one with new pads..... Like I said it is a gamble.... Alot of places have been known to lower the price if they know it has the older pads, that way you spend the savings in the pad upgrade. Is Guitar Center the only option for you?

hmmm..might be gettin the old pads if you order one from there..id steer clear and try to find an outlet thats restocked recently..where you located at fam?

tha guy said he will give it to me brand new 4 $700 with tha old pads i have $200 on already or should i pay it off and re-order for tha new ones, but i see anway im coming out some money , and no guitar center is not tha only option im not to far from chicago 1 place looked up was mini max and they r high is hell

That price is right.... I paid 966 for mine without new pads, then got the new pad at the same price....


If you are getting a new one with old pads for $700 you are saving enough to get the pad upgrade, so in the end you will be paying for a new one with new pads... Now you have to decide if you are willing to go through all of this.......


I have read where the pad upgrade is anywhere between $200 and $260 (I think that was the highest)..... So you are in the right ball park....

no what im saying is im not going to accept the first one i just have it on layaway the one im going to get jimmy at gc is going to order the mpc1k with new pads it more than $700 which is cool im sure its worth it...thanks
