Smartest way to connect my gear!?

i dont really know how to connect my gear in the best way to make it all work the way i want.

ive got:
mpc 4000 with adat board
motif rack
korg midicontroller
alesis 26io soundcard

i just connected my adatboard to my soundcard but dont even get how im supposed to make tracks go out on different channels!

i got my motifrack connected to my soundcard and midi from the controller to the rack, and from the controller to the computer via usb

so what i want is this:
to be able to record midi in cubase that controlls the rack like i do now
to be able to get the motifsounds into the mpc without exporting sounds from cubase and into the mpc thru aksys
to be able to record as many tracks as possible from my mpc to cubase
to be able to run the mpc as a slave to cubase

would appreciate it if someone took the time to help me with my troubles!

if you want to record midi in cubase to control the motif you need your controller hooked up to cubase through your interface and the inteface out needs to be hooked to the motif

you will not be able to get the motif sounds into the mpc without sampling them

I don't have the adat or 8 outs so I don't mess with this, i'm sure it's not that difficult though and can be found in the manual

to run mpc as a slave to cubase you'll need midi out from your interface into the midi in of the mpc,

what is the purpose of the mpc in this setup, since you are sequencing with cubase, is it just as a sampler? To control both from within cubase you'll need more midi outs or have to start using midi thrus and stuff.

well.. i do beats in cubase and the mpc depending on what kinda beats im doin, and i always want to arrange the beats in cubase.. and importing 10tracks from the mpc one by one takes so damn much time!
i think that the mpc sux for mixing compared to cubase and all the plugins i run there..

so the mainreason is that i like cubase when it comes to arranging and mixing, and i like the feel of the mpc so i need both hehe

yeah I hear yo....nothing wrong with that, I was just wondering i'm not sure about the output stuff.....

Why do you want your Motif sounds in the MPC?? Wouldn't it be better just to trigger the Motif via MIDI? It's multitimbral, (with 128 note polophony) so you can play quite a number of sounds; it has 6 outs so it's easy enough to add outboard fx etc.....and it reads MTC so it should sync easily....I will ocassionally have 6 or more motif sounds going at once. I frequently will work out parts this way for a quick workflow, then tweak or switch MIDI channels to a different piece of gear (for that perfect sound) once I've put the track together......

fader, ye thats what im doin now.. i have the rack connected to my comp and record miditracks in cubase wich i then record to audio on another track.. dunno if its a good method but i dont know anyone else who has this kinda gear so im kinda on my own!

how do u set the motif up to play different sounds at the same time? and do u know how to change the f***in attack on the voices? i cant find the attack setting anwhere!
