What do you mean? Is it that you don't know how to arm or setup a new audio or midi track? Please help me to understand.

You only connected the midi? Midi isnt audio... If so you need to hook up the audio from the mpc into your soundcard.

On your Daw set your software to a new midi channnl to record if you want to use your soft synth or soft drum module multitrimbally.

christ, this is why Akai gave up on the MPC4000 and made the 5000 et al.

Some days, I really think they did the right thing  :P

Dude, you gotta break it down for us...like "I'm trying to play vsti's along with my 4k".

Or "I'm trying to trigger vsti's via the 4k" or something to that nature. We can't help you with just bits & pieces of statements that only "YOU" understand.

Are you slaving your 4k to the DAW? Or is the DAW slaved from the mpc? I guarantee you'll get better results with folks willing to help you figure out your problem if you get a little more detailed wit it.

First, to keep it simple, are you alright on the midi connections? You'll need the mpc to be the controller you know.

Then in cubase you load your vsti, then assign it to a midi track. The controller corresponding midi channel must match the vsti's midi channel.

Also I think on the vsti's track properties, you have to have the track monitor on and midi thru turned on in cubase.

Then you should hear whatever vsti you're triggering from the mpc.
