Ive been trying to figure out for the longest how to record my triton on the mpc with out using the record in, im assuming i dont have the midi setup right or something, anybody got any suggestions? I ran the midi out from the triton to the mpc midi in and vice versa, then i went to global on the triton and set the midi clock to external, and on the mpc i tried all the different settings and no luck...Ive exhausted myself using the search function and searching the web.

You do know that midi doesn't record audio right?

Trition MIDI OUT --> MPC MIDI IN
MPC MIDI OUT --> Triton MIDI IN

The MPC will record the sequence (you can monitor the sounds on the triton), lots of midi messages and when played back, this will trigger the sounds on the triton. If you want to record audio into the MPC then use record in.

I know midi only records data, but , i was watching this video on you tube and this guy was recording with his keyboard on the mpc right, and it seemed like he was recording it on sequencer mode in the mpc cus he'd hit record on the mpc and the lines he was playing on the keyboard saved directly into the mpc, (just as if you were laying down a drum pattern on the pads you know) and he was sequencing the lines in, you could hear the metronome and everything, im trying to figure out how to do that.....

I know it doesnt record audio, i just cant figure out how to synch em, the cables are hooked up right and the triton is going into a mixer for monitoring but when i hit the pad on the mpc its not triggering the triton, what setting does the mpc need to be in? I have the triton set to external.
