I have FL studio 8 and i have been using that for a few years, but i just bought an MPC 1000 and its shipping here.. Anyway, my question is what do you need for audio output? This kid at guitar center told me to hear the sounds i need like 500 dollar speakers.. please help..

Based on your post I have to assume you dont have much experience so I'll be easy on you.


What have you been using to hear FL? If its the computer speakers then you can connect them to the headphone out of the MPC to hear audio. If not then you will need to get yourself some monitors. Do you have to spend $500....no....but if you buy cheap A$$ speakers you'll just be replacing them in a year so choose wisely. Another alternative is to work off headphones until you get your bread up.

Yea, im not new to producing but this is my first machine. And yea i have been using speakers with a little amp for my PC.. i wasnt aware there was a headphone jack or W/E.. does it fit, normal size headphone jacks or the big ones?

the "big kind" (same size as guitar jacks) is 1/4 inch, the smaller ones on headphones are 1/8

lol no problem man, but you had me for a second.. i was thinking to myself, f**k... have I been calling it the wrong thing all this time?



oh, on a side note, I saw an mpc 2000 classic on ebay just now with a buy it now of like 230 bucks. it was painted blue and has no labels on the buttons and pad 9 is not working.
