Greetings. I have recently purchased an MPC 500 after working with software production programs for a couple of years. After spending a few days messing around with some of the features and factory sounds and generally getting my head round the layout, i decided it was time to start getting my own sounds and samples on there. After consulting this and a few other forums i gathered what type of card i needed and went out and bought a 2Gb Sandisk CF card. The instructions in the manual were pretty straight forward on how to link the MPC to my PC via USB and after connecting it the 'Found New Hardware' box popped up. HOWEVER, my MPC did not show up in My Computer as an external HD or device, so i couldn't drag and drop my sounds. Whats more confusing is that it does show up in my device manager as ' MPC 500 Mass Storage Device ' :?

So my question is this, does anyone know why it would show up in my device manager and not my computer? Is there something really obvious that I'm missing? Is it the card or the MPC? As you can imagine I'm pulling my hair out as i can only work with the factory sounds right now!

On another note, to run my TT into my MPC, i have to run it through a mixer or preamp first i take it? So im just looking for a mixer with Phono I/O? What sort of connections do i need?

Thanks Guys

Try to read ur card thru a special card reader hooked up to ur pc. Maybe u have that type of cardreader in ur pc.
If it still wont work, it's probably the mpc.

TT to mixer, mixer out rca to input jack mpc. U can buy adapters or the right wires for that at the guitar shop. Just ask for a cable who can transport audio from rca to jack. Then they'll know enough to get the job done.
