im just getting into beat making and im wondering if which mpc to buy

i go high school still and dont really have a high paying job obviously so im looking for a cheap mpc and also one to connect to a computer so i can upload my beats there. also i am mostly thinking about getting a 500 since the portable idea is pretty sick and the price but im always hearing about how hard the pads are to hit and the number of them.

christ, 500s are taking over i guess,

i recently just got an mpc, and basically if you have 500 dollars, save up 500 more and get a 1000... you wont have to upgrade once you learn the 1000...peace son

Or you can get a used 1000 for the price of a new 500. The pads on the 500 don't have a sensativity problem that I'm aware of. You just have to watch out for the old 1000's as far as pad problems go. Do some more reading on the forums.

Check out threads concerning:
*JJOS (Japanese jenius operating system)
*Pad upgrade
*and ofcourse the 500

get a 1000. it does everything u want and more, get a 2nd hand 1 on ebay then if the pads die the money u save can go into upgrading them. so much more powerful than the 500 and you actually have a screen that you can view things properly to work on.

Definitely go for the black 1k. I upgraded from the old 2k. I found it on eBay, with the JJOS, upgraded RAM and internal hard-drive for £600 (roughly $800 with Sterling being so weak now?!). Totally worth it - I've had no issues now, and the features that I get on the 1k give me a woody every time I start it up.

+1 Get a 1000. I had a 500 and too it back and upgraded and got JJOS. Much easier, much more powerful, moch more functional.
