SONG TO SEQUENCE MPC2K

I've done just that but when I playback the sequence it won't action the track changes (on/off) as it would in a song. Also while I'm here can anyone recommend a good SCSI hard drive to store my samples etc on? or are they much of a muchness. There's a whole stack on ebay but being the technophobe that I am I've not a clue what to get (lots of different makes, memory etc)...

i dont get what ur saying about song, sequence but in song mode all the mutes are done on each seq. to ur liking while on seq. u have to do it yourself live.. i use zip so i have no idea on hd..

I feel your pain blakjak1, the problem is that you cannot render a song to a new sequence on the mpc2000 (NOT THE XL) taking the track changes into account. The mpc2000xl can do this but not the mpc2000. For a harddisk get a 1Gb disk and you should be fine www.scsiforsamplers.com is the place to look.

the tracks of the original sequences (that you put into song mode) have to match up. Say your song is made up of 4 sequences. if your snare is on track 1 on sequence 1, it has to be on the same tracks for the other sequences. Say your main sample is on track 5, it has to be on track 5 for every sequence that makes up the song. If not, once that song is converted into a sequence, and you play with on/off, nothing will line up right. Itll be a mess. Organization pays off.
