Maschine vs MPC 1000

Maschine vs MPC 1000

Hello everyone,

I want to start making beats strictly by sampling from vinyl / sampling homemade sounds. I don't really want to get in to using software.
My question is, should i get a NI Maschine or an Akai MPC 1000 with JJ OS?

As you are stating it already for yourself....get a MPC1000 with JJOS.

You are aware that the MPC 1000 is stand alone hardware and the Maschine is a Software/Hardware Hybrid, but still CANNOT be used without a computer, Correct ?

Nope, i thought that the Maschine was similiar to the MPC, i have to admit i've done a lot more research on the MPC but i went to a music store today and i was told the Maschine 'could do the same and more in an easier way than the MPC' and i specifically told him i did'nt really want to use software.. Seems like he did'nt really know what he was talking about, thanks guys!

I love my 1000, but i do love my maschine mikro as well. Both are good, but if u want strictly stand alone hardware then the 1000 is the route to take.

He did know what he was talking about. Maschine is not at all like using any other software as you can do pretty much everything from Maschine's hardware without touching a mouse or looking at the computer screen. As you may have noticed, Akai has already killed off their entire line of hardware MPCs and are now desperately trying to catch up with an overpriced poor Maschine clone that still doesn't have the mouseless workflow to the level Maschine has.

No, Maschine is software with a controller, and MUST be used with a computer no matter how hard you try to candy coat the product.

well, machine comes along with a wide range of the most sucked up and all over the place sugar presets you can imagine....pretty hard to get around it....and pretty hard to find your own sound in there....if you wanna sound like the common candy....machine is the better deal.....and once it's hooked up to a computer you don't have to touch the computer that much......true...and of course you can sample here, too....

but if it's all about YOUR sound.....go for the real thing....
a mpc 1000 never lets you down as long you got power supply...

Both are "real things".

Both can SAMPLE so that puts it on YOU to carve out your own path on either one.
Use the sounds if you want or don't. The 1k comes with sounds too.
