Are Triton Studio's better than Mpcxl's?

i wanna cop a hot piece of equipment to make hot beats with, right now all i got is FL and Acid, so this would be my 1st piece of equipment ever, and i dont know whether or not i should get a Triton Studio or a MPC2000XL, can ya'll give me advice on these items and which one is better to work with, and remember i only have acid and FL right now, so i would appreciate some helpful advice, 1.

Depends on whether you wanna bang on pads or bang on keys.

Depends on whether you want ready-made internal soundsin your machine (2kxl has none).

Depends on which on you would rather sequence on, 2kxl is easier and much more friendly.

Depends on how much space you have in you room/studio (keyboards are bigger of course).

Depends on different ways you'd like to work it out ya dig.

cause this is a lame question. they are 2 diff machines. The triton is a soundmod keyboard workstation. its loaded with sounds. the mpc is rhytm sampler and midi sequncer. The mpc has no sounds. The mpc is used mainly as a sequncer to control for ex. a triton. If u want something with sounds in it then get the triotn. if u want to sample records get an mpc. simple as that.

It's not all that easy to fairly and objectively answer this question.
And since you asked it on an mpc board , you're likely to get people steering you toward the mpc.
I've used both although I'm much more comfortable on the mpc and like it a lot more.
They can both sample though.
Of course , the triton comes with built in sounds , nice filters , etc.
The mpc comes with zero sounds.
You just have to sample everything into it.
I cant speak on every mpc , I only have the 2000xl though I've used the 1000 a bit.
I am more tha satisfied with my 2000xl and that's saying quite a bit seeing as how I am still no expert on it.
I dont have to worry about sounds because I can sample whatever I want and have those sounds easily.
From my first day with the mpc , I got it home , hooked it up , stayed up with it all night and quit my job in the morning when I turned it off and realized that I should have been at work 3 hours ago.
To me there is nothing like sampling some drums , trimming them , assigning them to a pad ( and not a keyboard key) and banging those pads silly.
I was feeling my beats from the first day and that was before I knew even 1/10th of what I now know how to do on the mpc.
Of course , I had already known how to make beats because I'd been doing it for years but I'd never made one on the 2000xl.
It was very easy to me.
Everyones different though. Just feels better hitting those pads to make a beat rather than a keyboard.
Now , dont get me wrong , the triton has some ill sh1t in it and like I said , I made beats on it with my crew and they were nice beats but if I could only have one , it would be the mpc easily.
Then again , like they said , everyones different and you may be more of a keyboard guy.
I've never been trained on a keyboard or anything else or that matter.
I taught myself everything that I know how to do for the most part so maybe old school sh1t is the reason why I like the mpc so much.
Your best bet is to either get some time using your friends mpc and triton or if that's not an option , spend a lot of time in the store and test them out there and see which one YOU like best.
It's hard for us to tell you which to get especially when you didnt provide a whole of information about your style , musical ability , etc.
If you do pick the mpc , you always have us here to help out and you cant say that about some other forms of equipment.
You may not get immediate answers to everything but doing a search will reveal a lot of answers and everyone pretty much tries their best to help out.
All of this for free.
Makes me glad I've got an mpc.

get the mpc spend the money you saved on some modules or other gear..

my thing is that I'm an advocate of going out and researching before you do anything....especually buying equipment....don't listen to who has what or who says what.....if you wanan find out, there is only true way, hands on; experience by yourself.....GC and Sam Ash give you the opportunity to do this...so take it.....TRITON=KEYBOARD/SYNTH while MPC=DRUM MACHINE/SAMPLER...it's all up to what you really wanan add to your artillery....

Lean back, I THINK binger said it was a lame question because:

1. Obviously, someone deson't know that they are 2 different machines.
They are so different that to me their strengths can't even be compared to each other.

2. Both sample true enough, one has default sounds while the other doesn't. One is ALSO a synth workstation with WAY more tools inside (Triton).

3. You can't honestly ask this type of question and expect at least 1 person to reply without sarcasm. Peeps should do their homework on gear that interests them so they will know somewhat the basics of each machine, why wouldn't you, you will be spending a major amount of loot on these machines .

4. Just cause you get some gear that Dre Timb or Pharell use doesn't make YOU a hot producer or make HOT beats for you, peeps don't understand that at all . It's the skill. I know peeps that use Roland W-30's midi'd to TR-808's that got HOT beats. It's the PERSON first and the gear comes second when skill is involved making the music.

Open your minds and recognize an open forum with open opinions when you see one.

Just answer the question or don't. Stop patrolling the site trying to correct people or put them down. If you are going to stand up for something at least represent yourself in a "manly" manner. see what am i hypocrticial about? i dont need to justify anything to u cause this is all bullshi t. All i know is that i do help and contribute to people on this forum. I do know alot cause i do my homework. If u dont like my replys then go head and comment. Im not gonna stop u. But be prepared to argue with me.
