If you could lead me to a forum where this has already been answered that'd be great man. I just want to get the beats off of my MPC, to the computer and be able to hear them. I tried reading the digi001 manuals and im lost when it comes to this part. I tried saving the 'songs' as midi's and it just comes out as crappy noises on the computer. Sorry for snapping before, I wasn't aware you meant by PT and I got kind of frustrated.
you need to hook the audio out from your mpc to the audio in of the digi001 start protools, create some audio tracks, record arm the ones that you want to record onto, click record in protools, press play on your mpc. boom bap bing, press stop in protools when you're finished playing your mpc. That should do it. You can check the manual or I think there's prolly lots of discussion in the forum on slaving the mpc to protools beat clock, but you don 't need to do that. if no signal is going into protools, then you should go to digidesigns website, and make sure you've got the right drivers and version of pt for your computer os.
Protools can be a complicated beast, so it's best to read up all the manuals you can get yer hands on, and go over all the setup stuff a bunch of times. maybe you need to re-install the mofo. It's hard to say without knowing how it's setup.
